Free fall fun for the kids at Zittel's

Pumpkins, apples and fun. We took a chance on a trip to Zittel's Country Market in Hamburg, not knowing what we'd find. I guess I thought it was just a place to buy produce. Boy was I wrong.

It was a riot. For fall, Zittel's goes all out with things for the kids with some free fun available during store hours. It has a super neat straw maze. Not just a little maze, either. I'm talking about a pretty elaborate maze with a tunnel and some obstacles. It's short enough so you can see them at almost all times. My kids went in and out more times than I could count. They loved it. Ella is just 22 months and she giggled the entire time. There were about a dozen or so kids running around, laughing, playing, jumping and loving every minute of it.

They also have what they call a "haunted house." It's a kid friendly haunted house for sure. It's very creative with some creepy looking Disney princesses. The kids weren't afraid, they were entertained. And then came their favorite part - the baby farm animals. Piggies, a calf, some baby goats, oh my. They were the cutest little things. They had some grain that the kids could feed the animals, which was a blast.

All that fun stuff to do and it didn't cost us a dime. They don't charge anything to come in and play. While you're there you can pick up some mums, pumpkins, produce, apple cider and some very cute gizmos and gadgets. The staff is very courteous, the bathroom is clean and convenient, and parking is a piece of cake.

We spent hours there and could have spent the day. We can't wait to go again.
