Buffalo police nab suspect in downtown bank robbery

Buffalo police have charged a man with robbing a bank in Ellicott Square on Friday.

Derrick Braggs, 37, of Buffalo was charged in connection with the robbery of the Northwest Bank branch at 295 Main St., which happened shortly after 1 p.m. Friday.

Braggs was spotted Wednesday afternoon in downtown Buffalo and taken into custody, police said Thursday. Police charged him with robbery.

Three bank robberies from this week remain under investigation, police said.

On Monday, a bank on Bailey Avenue was robbed. On Tuesday, banks on Bailey and Elmwood Avenue were robbed.
