Don’t go too near the water in Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park.
City workers posted signs warning of dangerous algae in the lake Thursday evening after the state Department of Environmental Conservation notified local officials of a harmful algae bloom.
All recreational activities in the lake are off-limits until further notice, city spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said.
“That includes no swimming, no boating, no fishing and no pets in the water,” stated DeGeorge.
He added that the city will work closely with state and county health officials on the problem.
