Justin Guerin, operations director for the Food Bank of Western New York, was named the 2016 Eastern Region Operations Leader of the Year by Feeding America, a nationwide network of 200 food banks. The Catholic Health Neuroscience Service Line has named Dr. Omar Kass-Hout as medical director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center located at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. A neuroendovascular surgeon, Kass-Hout completed his medical degree at Damascus University School of Medicine and received his master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta. He completed his neurology residency at the University at Buffalo, and completed his stroke/vascular neurology fellowship at Emory University.
