LOCKPORT – Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III set bail at $15,000 Friday for a youth football and wrestling coach accused of attacking a woman with a beer bottle at a Niagara Falls bar Sept. 8, inflicting lacerations on her head that took 17 stitches to repair.
Darren C. Christian Sr., 39, of A Street, Niagara Falls, also has been to state prison three times: for a robbery in 1994, a burglary in 2001 and drug possession in 2010.
Assistant District Attorney Claudette S. Caldwell said Christian allegedly attacked the woman in Cocktail Bob’s at 22nd Street and Cudaback Avenue. Christian confessed his actions to police, the prosecutor said. The case is slated for a preliminary hearing Monday.
