Schneiderman: Election law violations still possible against Pigeon

Asked about political operative G. Steven Pigeon at a news conference today, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said election law violations against him are still possible.

It was Schneiderman's strongest statement yet that his investigators remain interested in Pigeon and the way he roiled the Erie County political scene for more than a decade.

He acknowledged that the investigation started as a complaint about Pigeon and his election activities from the Erie County Board of Elections.

Pigeon was charged in June with bribery and extortion in a separate case involving former Supreme Court Justice John A. Michalek who resigned and pleaded guilty.
