DUDEK, Dolores A. "Dodo"

DUDEK - Dolores A. "Dodo" 86, of Dunkirk, NY, passed away peacefully September 17, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Octpber 22, 1929 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Stephen and Josephine (Kondzielski) Muszalski. She graduated from Blasdell Central High School with the class of 1947. Dolores had worked as a crossing guard at School No. 7 in Dunkirk for many years. As a member of the Usher Corps at SUNY Fredonia Center for the Arts, she assisted at more than 400 events. She also served as an usher at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House. Known as "Dodo" to family and friends, she was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with "women who golf for fun." She also participated in a senior bowling league. Dodo was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Dunkirk. Together with her husband, she volunteered for the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren. At Christmastime, she knitted each family member (and occasionally friends) a special pair of slippers, affectionately known as "booties." Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Raymond Dudek, whom she married October 7, 1950; five children: Barbara Mizwa of Dunkirk, Steven (Jane) Dudek and Linda (Ray) Katta, both of Fredonia, Doreen (Bryan) Carr of Hamburg and Theresa (late Robbin) Hill of Fredonia; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 328 Washington Ave., Dunkirk. Calling hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Entombment will be in the Pieta Mausoleum of St. Mary's Cemetery, Dunkirk.
