Babeville's 9th Ward to host Ladies Night showcase

A collection of Buffalo's finest female musicians will come together for a Ladies Night showcase at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 in Babeville's intimate basement venue the 9th Ward (341 Delaware Ave.).

Headlining the evening will be seasoned singer-songwriter Grace Stumberg. Along with her four-piece outfit the Grace Stumberg Band, the songwriter has spent the better part of the decade playing in and out of the Buffalo area. Her talents and hard worked caught the eye of '60s folk singer Joan Baez a few years back, earning Stumberg a job as Baez's personal assistant. The musician used the role as an opportunity to tour the world, and open and play with the likes of the Indigo Girls and Josh Ritter, as well as her legendary employer.

Joining Stumberg will be multi-instrumental Sara Elizabeth, Dirty Smile's soulful vocalist Megan Brown and genre-blending storyteller Tina Williams.

Tickets are $5 (box office, Ticketweb).
