Trusting casino patron ends up fleeced of items worth $681

NIAGARA FALLS – A Warsaw woman who befiended a couple at Seneca Niagara Casino ended up the victim of a theft that cost her $681 early Saturday, Niagara Falls police said.

Police said that after a night of gambling and drinking, the victim offered the couple the use of her hotel room to take a nap. After returning to the room an hour later, she discovered the theft, police said.

Surveillance video showed the man leaving the room empty-handed but the woman emerging from the room about 10 minutes later, pulling a suitcase owned by the Warsaw woman, police said. Items stolen include clothing, two checkbooks, two bottles of vodka and electronic items.
