Sabres' prospects take the ice as Buffalo tournament nears

With a disappointing football season already on its way to being over, the hockey season gained its footing Friday morning.

The Buffalo Sabres’ youngsters gathered in HarborCenter to prepare for the team’s prospect challenge this weekend. Buffalo will face off against hopefuls from the New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins in a round-robin tournament. It begins Saturday night when the Sabres take on New Jersey.

The Sabres opened their initial practice with the following lines and defense pairings:
