Convicted sex offender pleads guilty in new case

A convicted felon with a prior sex offense on his record pleaded guilty Thursday to sexually abusing a child in March.

Casey T. Jones, 46, of Buffalo admitted in State Supreme Court that he engaged in sexual conduct with a 10-year-old boy. The charge is a class D violent felony. Prosecutors said Jones knew the victim through the child’s mother.

Jones also has other nonviolent felony convictions on his record. He faces a maximum possible sentence of up to seven years in prison when he returns to court Oct. 20.
