A man and woman were arrested following an investigation into the sale of marijuana wax in Orleans County on Wednesday.
Adam C. Gallo, 31, of Eagle Harbor Road, Albion and Ashley Ross, 23, of Holley Byron Road, Holley were arrested in Gallo's Albion home, where the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force, the Orleans County Sheriff, Albion Police and a multi-agency SWAT team executed a search warrant and found marijuana, marijuana wax, over $4,000 in cash, packaging materials and other drug paraphernalia, according to authorities.
Marijuana wax, which appears like a stick paste or taffy-like substance, is a highly potent form of marijuana which can cause severe impairment. The color of the wax varies from yellow to green to dark brown and is usually packaged in wax paper or parchment paper.
Gallo faces five felony counts and five misdemeanor counts of criminal possession and sale of marijuana. Ross faces a single charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, police said.
Both Gallo and Ross were arraigned in the Town of Albion Court with Gallo held in Orleans County Jail on $10,000 bail and Ross on $500. A return court date was set for Monday.
The investigation is ongoing, according to Supervising Investigator Joseph F. Sacco.
