The Lancaster Public Library has nearly doubled the number of its parking spots to ease a longstanding parking crunch at the 5466 Broadway site.
The library’s lot increased from 19 to 35 spots.
The parking area expansion occurred after the town and library used grant money to a buy a home behind the library on School Street.
The expanded parking lot with a one-way drive features angled parking and drivers enter from School Street and exit onto it. For the first time, drivers also have a rear drop box available.
The library will host a grand opening for its parking area from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, with bounce houses and two food trucks on site.
