Lake Erie’s past, present and future to be examined at talk in Hamburg

Lake Erie, from its early history of fishery and ecology to algae blooms and invasive species, will be discussed at 7 p.m. Wednesday as part of the Lake Erie Seaway Trail Center’s speaker series.

Helen Domske, associate director of the Great Lakes Program at the University at Buffalo, will look at “Lake Erie: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” and will offer a forecast of what the future might bring. Preserved aquatic specimens and artifacts will add a hands-on component to the free program sponsored by the Friends of the Lake Erie Seaway Trail.
