National Live Creative Day is a newly minted national holiday. Make it a good one.
Wear a splashy hat. Pack a creative lunch. Do a chalk drawing. Pick up a cheap notebook and start a bullet journal.
Then, think big.
Buffalo is a creative town. The Albright-Knox Art Gallery has art classes. ("Paint Like Picasso," anyone?) Michael's Crafts or JoAnn Fabrics have classes - many of them free - in drawing, painting, coloring techniques, jewelry making, knitting, sewing, cookie decorating, you name it.
It's never too late to learn to play the piano. The august 1827 piano firm Denton, Cottier & Daniels will set you up with lessons you'll love. Reach for the stars, and pick up pointers at the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's new Masterclass series, starting Oct. 13.
Belly up to the barre with classes with the Neglia Ballet Artists. The Configuration Dance Theatre has classes including one called "Everybody Ballet." Then eat back all those calories with cooking classes at Tops or Wegmans.
One day isn't enough.
Make it National Creative Year!
