The much-awaited new Westin Buffalo Hotel will welcome its first guests Thursday, representing the first entry into Western New York of one of the world’s most elite hotel chains.
The new four-story, 119-room hotel, operated by Delaware North inside the new 250 Delaware tower complex in downtown Buffalo, marks the first Starwood Hotels & Resorts hotel in downtown Buffalo. It occupies part of the 12-story tower that Uniland Development Co. constructed as the new corporate headquarters for Delaware North, at a cost of $110 million.
The hotel also includes the high-end Patina 250 restaurant, run by Delaware North subsidiary Patina Restaurant Group. The restaurant opened Wednesday.
The hotel has already offered preview stays for “friends and family” since last weekend. A formal ribbon-cutting for the hotel will be held Sept. 22 at 9:30 a.m.
