Ex-Buffalo State player Carr signs Canucks’ tryout contract

Former Buffalo State hockey goalie Kevin Carr signed a professional tryout contract with the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.

Carr, 26, of Unionville, Ont., played for the Bengals from 2010-14 and set school career records for wins (45), shutouts (nine) and save percentage (.921) His 2.67 goals-against average is second in Buffalo State annals.

After college he played two seasons of professional hockey with the Tulsa Oilers and posted 51 wins with 2.56 goal-against average and a .911 save percentage.
