Two arrested on gun and drug charges in Buffalo traffic stop

Two Buffalo men were arrested on weapon and drug charges when Buffalo police pulled their car over during a routine traffic stop on Langfield Drive early Monday.

Daqwan Joyner of Congressional Street and Michael Daniels of Debra Lane, both 23, were taken into custody about 1 a.m. Police reported finding several bundles of heroin, a plastic bag containing crack cocaine and a black handgun hidden in the vehicle. Both were charged with first-, third- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and a traffic violation of failing to obey a no-passing zone warning.

The suspects remained in custody in Erie County Holding Center Tuesday evening.
