Buffalo police offer reward in December 2013 homicide in Riverside

Buffalo police are offering a reward in a 2013 killing in Riverside, the department announced Tuesday.

John Stein, 19, was fatally shot Dec. 13, 2013, in the vicinity of 37 Humphrey Road, just behind Riverside High School.

"The [Buffalo Police Department] knows that there are individuals who have knowledge about this case, and on behalf of the victim and the victim's family, we are asking for those people to come forward," the department said in a Facebook post.

A reward of up to $2,500 will be given for information that leads to an arrest or indictment in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Buffalo police at (716) 851-4511 or Crimestoppers at (716) 867-6161.

Police released video which they said shows the victim's white vehicle pull into his driveway, followed by two suspects who pull up in an SUV. One of the suspects walks down the driveway and shoots the victim, according to police.

Police were initially called to the shooting scene for the report of "an accident."
