Tonawanda man charged with unlawful imprisonment, menacing

A City of Tonawanda man faces menacing and unlawful imprisonment charges after an incident Sunday in a Young Street apartment.

Nicholas J. Mombrea is accused of choking a woman, pushing her into a bedroom, kicking her and preventing her from leaving, City of Tonawanda police said.

The woman grabbed a cell phone and called 911, police said.

Mombrea, 31, was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. and charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree menacing, second-degree harassment and possession of marijuana. He was held for a court appearance, police said.
