ABC-Amega, a global commercial receivable management firm headquartered in Buffalo has hired Dan Shantler as vice president of global operations. Shantler will focus on the strategic planning and development of processes and procedures for the organization’s third Party Global Debt Collection services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business communication and sociology from the University at Buffalo.

BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York has appointed Joseph Simpson to director, enterprise risk management and business continuity planning. Simpson is responsible for the innovative leadership, development and implementation of the company’s comprehensive operational and risk management strategy. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Canisius College.

Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC announced Vincent O. Hanley has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2017 Buffalo Litigation – Real Estate “Lawyer of the Year.”

Brock, Schechter & Polakoff LLP has promoted Griffin Jankowski, CPA, to senior accountant. Jankowski graduated from Canisius College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in forensic accounting.

Nikolas Mroz has been named financial center manager for Evans Bank’s Lockport location at 5688 S. Transit Road. Mroz, an assistant vice president, holds licenses for property and casualty, life and health insurances. He is also a notary public, licensed with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, and holds series 6 and 63 investment licenses.

BryLin Behavioral Health System promoted Amy Cross-Viola to clinical supervisor overseeing clinical operations at the BryLin Outpatient Mental Health Clinic in Williamsville. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who joined BryLin in 2012, Cross-Viola obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from SUNY Buffalo State and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

BryLin Behavioral Health System promoted Lisa Rogers to business manager overseeing the business operations at the BryLin Outpatient Mental Health Clinic in Williamsville. Rogers, who joined BryLin in 2013, has more than 18 years of health care and management experience after obtaining her CMBS from Bryant and Stratton.

Franchelle C. Hart, executive director of Open Buffalo, has been honored as a “Woman in Leadership” in August by the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of New York State Women Inc. This program recognizes Western New York women who exhibit leadership, enterprise and excellence in their business or profession while giving back to the community. Hart attended SUNY Buffalo State and the University at Albany.

Timothy J. Freer has been promoted to vice president, human resources at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Freer joined the medical center staff as director of human resources in June 2014. He is a graduate of the University at Buffalo.

Laura Hirsch, president of Nova Healthcare Administrators, is the recipient of the 2016 NY44 Award from the NY44 Health Benefit Plan Trust. In her role partnering with the NY44 Health Trust, she has presented and implemented new initiatives that have continually supported the Trust’s cost-containment strategies. She currently oversees the aligned Independent Health and Nova self-funded services.

Delaware North has announced that Ron Battaglia has joined the company as assistant general counsel of the parks and resort business. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Rochester and a juris doctor at Vermont Law School.

Brock, Schechter & Polakoff LLP has promoted Mark Kransler, CPA, to senior accountant. Kransler received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University at Buffalo and earned an MBA from Canisius College.
