Two tourists from India targeted by Falls thieves

NIAGARA FALLS – Two tourists from India lost money and other valuables as the result of thefts Saturday morning at the Day Inn on Main Street, Niagara Falls police said.

One of the victims told police he and his wife had gone to breakfast at the hotel about 8:30 a.m. when a bag of valuables was stolen from their table as they perused the menu. Missing are an iPad, debit cards, two cellphones, $600 in American cash as well as Indian currency. The loss was estimated at $2,000.

In the other case, the victim returned to his room after breakfast and discovered a suitcase was slightly opened and $1,800 in U.S. currency stolen.
