A 57-year-old Burlington, Ont., man died after a one-car crash apparently caused when he suffered a medical emergency at the wheel while exiting the northbound Robert Moses Parkway at the traffic circle in Niagara Falls Friday evening.
Niagara Falls police said the man’s car accelerated north on John Daly Boulevard, struck a grass embankment, became airborne, struck a tree and came to rest in a field north of Niagara Street at 9:25 p.m. Friday.
Niagara Falls police said the man was pronounced dead at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. A female passenger was treated for minor injuries and released.
Police said the cause of the crash is still being investigated but it appears to have been caused by the medical emergency. The names of driver and passenger were not released.
