Woman charged with DWI after she drove into utility pole

CHAUTAUQUA – A Mayville woman faces driving while intoxicated charges after a one-vehicle crash early Thursday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. on Route 394 in the Town of Chautauqua. A vehicle driven by Rachel Y. Farnham, 25, left the roadway near a curve and struck a utility pole, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators charged Farnham with two counts of DWI and ticketed her for speeding and failure to keep right. She has an upcoming court date in Chautauqua Town Court, the sheriff’s office said.
