Rochester-area Assemblyman Bill Nojay found dead

Rochester-area Assemblyman Bill Nojay committed suicide Friday morning at a cemetery, according to several media outlets, including the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.

The Democrat & Chronicle cited local officials in reporting the suicide.

Nojay was found dead from a gunshot wound at his family cemetery plot, the New York Daily News reported.

Nojay represented the 133rd Assembly district, which includes all of Livingston County, plus parts of Monroe and Steuben counties.
