Lancaster man charged with aggravated DWI at Peace Bridge

A Lancaster man was charged at the Peace Bridge early Friday with aggravated driving while intoxicated, according to state police.

Troopers were called to U.S. Customs just before 1:30 a.m. for the report of a possibly intoxicated man in custody.

Kevin R. VanSplunder, 43, was taken to the Buffalo barracks where he registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.21 percent, more than double the legal limit, State Police said.

He was turned over to a sober third party and issued a ticket for Buffalo City Court on Sept. 20.
