Two Niagara Falls men face attempted murder charges

LOCKPORT – Two Niagara Falls men face attempted murder charges in connection with a shooting in Niagara Falls last month.

Courtney Williams of Whitney Avenue was arraigned Thursday and Lacory Edwards of Jordan Gardens was arraigned Wednesday before State Supreme Court before Judge Richard C. Kloch Sr.

Each entered not guilty pleas on charges of first-degree assault, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Both have been remanded to Niagara County Jail without bail.

The victim told police on Aug. 20 that he was waiting for Williams to pick him up. When he left his home, Williams and two others walked toward him. He said Williams and another man, later identified as Edwards, shot at him multiple times before he was able to flee. The incident happened just after 10 p.m. in the 7900 block of Lindbergh Avenue, police reported.

Injuries were not life-threatening, according to police reports, and the victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center.

The two were arrested the next day after they were spotted in ECMC by friends of the victim.
