Nylander, Bailey among young stars to play in Sabres Prospect Challenge

Buffalo's top young players, including 2016 first-round pick Alexander Nylander, are scheduled to play in the Sabres' second annual Prospects Challenge this month.

The Sabres released their roster Thursday for the three-team tournament that includes Boston and New Jersey, and it features several players who have appeared in the NHL or hope to make Buffalo's roster this fall. The team:

*Forwards - Justin Bailey, Nicholas Baptiste, William Carrier, Eric Cornel, Jean Dupuy, Giorgio Estephan, Hudson Fasching, Vasily Glotov, Brandon Hagel, Vaclav Karabacek, Matthew Lane, Daniel Muzito-Bagenda, Nylander, Cliff Pu and Evan Rodrigues.

*Defensemen - Brady Austin, Vojtech Budik, Paul Geiger, Brendan Guhle, Brycen Martin, Austin Osmanski and Devante Stephens.

*Goaltenders - Jason Kasdorf and Linus Ullmark.

The round-robin tournament will be held Sept. 17-19 in HarborCenter. The Sabres and Devils will play at 7 p.m. Sept. 17. New Jersey and Boston will face off at 7 p.m. Sept. 18. The Sabres and Bruins will close the tournament at 7 p.m. Sept. 19.

Tickets are $10 for each game and are available at the Sabres' box office and Sabres.com.
