Buffalo students to showcase arts on Friday

Buffalo students who took part in the summer’s School for the Arts program will be showcasing their work on Friday.

The Buffalo Public School Arts Education Department will present the work of the young artists from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Buffalo Arts Studio, 2495 Main St. in the Tri-Main Center.

The Buffalo City Summer School of the Arts was provided to 100 selected students in grades 7 through 12 and focused on five areas – visual arts, musical theater, dramatic writing, dance and multi-media arts.

The program was funded with $29,000 from the Buffalo Public School Foundation, the non-profit that provides financial support for athletics, arts and academics at city schools.
