Suzanne M. Ehni, retired IRS auditor and devoted homemaker

May 24, 1925 – Sept. 4, 2016

Suzanne M. Ehni, a retired auditor for the Internal Revenue Service, died Sunday in her Eggertsville home after a long illness. She was 91.

Born in Buffalo, the former Suzanne Drilling was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She began working for the Buffalo office of the IRS in 1943 and retired as an auditor in 1982.

A devoted homemaker, she enjoyed knitting, sewing and baking. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.

Her husband of 36 years, Harry J., a vice president at Western Savings Bank, died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Mary E.; three sons, Richard J., Peter H. and Thomas M.; a brother, Terence Drilling; two grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Benedict’s Church, Eggertsville.
