A growing Amherst plastic surgery and dental practice is expanding its operation with a two-story medical office addition to its existing Kensington Avenue facility.
The family-owned Aesthetic Associates Center, led by Drs. Todd and Samuel Shatkin Jr., wants to put up another 15,686 square feet of medical office space at 2500 Kensington, near the Youngmann Expressway exit onto Main Street. That will add to the 11,184-square-foot building it already operates at the 1.14-acre site.
The project, designed by Stieglitz Snyder Architecture, also includes renovations of the existing building plus 11 additional parking spaces, for a total of 63.
The Shatkin brothers, each of whom have been practicing since 1989, offer cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry, skin care, face lifts, eye lifts, breast surgery, liposuction and other procedures, with an operating room and recovery suite in its ambulatory surgery center for outpatient procedures as well as five dental operating rooms, X-rays and imaging. The office was originally started by their father, Dr. Samuel Shatkin, a plastic surgeon and dentist who practiced for over 50 years until his death in 2010.
The Shatkins also operate the Tres Aurae Spa at the Wyndham Garden Hotel on Main Street in the Village of Williamsville.
