Power back on in North Buffalo after outage

National Grid crews restored power to some 1,300 North Buffalo customers at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, about 90 minutes after power went off in sections of the West Side and Black Rock parts of the city.

Traffic lights had been malfunctioning on streets including Amherst, Colvin and Parkside.

Power had been out in the Elmwood Avenue and Grote Street areas in the city’s Black Rock section and on Ardmore, Baynes and Richmond Avenue on the West Side. The problem reportedly involved two substations which had malfunctions, according to National Grid.
