Senior captain Russell Cicerone, who had helped the University at Buffalo men’s soccer team get off to a 4-0-0 start, was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, for the fourth time in his career.
Cicerone had a strong weekend for the Bulls. He had a goal and two assists in last Friday’s 3-0 win over Stone Brook.
He converted a penalty kick Sunday for the winning goal in UB’s victory over Incarnate Word.
Cicerone leads the nation in goals (7) and points (18) has has a point in all four UB games. He ranks second in UB history with 35 goals, 17 assists and 87 points.
UB is the only team in the nation with a 4-0-0 record and has not been scored on.
The Bulls will return to the pitch with a pair of road matches, VMI on Friday at 7 p.m. and Liberty on Sunday at 1 p.m.
