Healthy choices: Monday marks last of this season's Canalside fitness classes ; Slow Roll keeps going

Canalside fitness classes come to a close today for the summer but similar options continue in other parts of the region. Several are included in this week’s Top 10 Refresh Calendar Picks of the Week when it comes to health, exercise, nutrition and family fun choices. See this week’s complete calendar listing here.

MONDAY

Canalside fitness: Today is the last day for weekly fitness waterfront classes courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York. They include both Kangoo Jumps and Rev Fit at 6 p.m. and both Barre Centric and Fusion Aerobics at 7 p.m., Canalside. Free.

Slow Roll: Monday evening bike rides continue for several more weeks. This  week, riders gather at 5:30 p.m. and ride starts at 6:30 sharp outside LaSalle & Main Street NFTA Station, 3030 Main St. Bikers up to age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

TUESDAY

Total Body Burn: 5 p.m.; and same time Thursday, 7 a.m. Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. Saturday, Stiglmeier Park, 810 Losson Road, Cheektowaga. Hosted by On the Move Fitness. Mindfullness, Meditation and Everyday Life: The Buffalo Zen Dharma Community welcomes the public to a presentation by Vanessa Zuisel Goodard, a spiritual guide with 20 years of rigorous Zen Buddhist monastic training, 7 to 9 p.m., Westminister Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave. Goodard will lead a meditation at 6:30 p.m. For more info, visit BuffaloZen.org. $10.
