Hot water tanks, drywall and a toilet stolen from two Johnson Street homes

Two hot water tanks, 80 sheets of drywall, a toilet and a bathroom vanity were stolen from a pair of adjacent Johnson Street homes Saturday in a brazen burglary.

A new hot water tank was taken from the basement of 36 Johnson St., while a second one disappeared from the first floor of 38 Johnson St. Each cost about $700. Another $800 of drywall and the two bathroom items were also missing, for a total loss of about $2,400, according to a police report. There was no sign of forced entry.
