First Niagara Bank branch on Kenmore Avenue robbed

A First Niagara Bank branch on Kenmore Avenue was robbed Friday afternoon, according to Buffalo police reports.

A bank teller told police that a woman approached the counter inside the 690 Kenmore Ave. bank just before 3:30 p.m. and first asked for quarters in exchange for a dollar bill before passing a note stating: “this is a robbery, large bills, don’t be stupid.”

The robber made off with $80 and a bait pack, according to reports.

The thief was described as a 5-foot-6, heavy-set, black female with black hair. The robber was wearing a pink T-shirt and blue jeans.

Northwest District Police are investigating the incident.
