Buffalo man, 30, arrested in fatal stabbing on Oakmont Avenue

A Buffalo man was arrested on second-degree murder charges early Friday evening in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 52-year-old man in the 200 block of Oakmont Avenue Friday morning, according to Michael J. DeGeorge, Buffalo Police spokesman.

Homicide detectives charged William Hemphill, 30, with stabbing the victim during a dispute between the two men, who knew each other, according to DeGeorge and Buffalo police.

DeGeorge said the identity of the victim is not being released yet pending notification of the victim’s family.

Hemphill remains in custody pending his City Court arraignment Saturday.
