Niagara Falls man, 43, in critical condition after assault

NIAGARA FALLS – An unidentified 43-year-old man suffered what police described as a severe head injury during an assault on 69th Street near Edison Avenue some time after 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to a release from the Niagara Falls Police.

The victim was flown to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo for treatment of his injury, Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster told The Buffalo News, relating what he said he had been told by police.

The incident remained under investigation late Tuesday night.

According to a release from the Niagara Falls Police late Tuesday, the man was in critical condition.
