New Era Field to serve as host for sectionals and regionals

The home of the Buffalo Bills has a new name and it will get plenty of use during the scholastic football postseason.

Sectionals are scheduled for Nov. 4-5 at New Era Field, the former Ralph Wilson Stadium. Section VI also has home-field advantage this year for Far West Regionals. Since the Buffalo Bills are on the bye week, the games will be played Nov. 11-12 at New Era Field instead of All High Stadium.

State semifinals are slated for Nov. 18-19 at Cicero-North Syracuse, while the state finals are Nov. 25-26 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.

The Monsignor Martin Association playoffs begin Nov. 5. Semifinals are Nov. 12. The top two teams in the standings receive a first-round bye.

Unlike previous seasons, the higher seeds will host the semifinals instead of the teams playing a doubleheader at the former Ralph. The final is Nov. 19 at New Era Field. The Monsignor Martin champion advances to the New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association final on Nov. 26. The downstate Catholic High School Athletic Association champion will host the game.
