Former Buffalo State men's basketball standout Jake Simmons to coach at St. Joe's

Buffalo State's all-time leading scorer will be coaching in the Monsignor Martin Association this year. Jake Simmons was hired as the freshman basketball coach at St. Joe's. Simmons, a native of Rochester, scored 2,079 points for the Bengals' men's basketball team from 2009-13 breaking the 42-year record set by Randy Smith (1968-71). Simmons has played professionally for the Buffalo 716ers of the Premier Basketball League and has coached at the AAU level. A motivational speaker, he uses the hashtag #NowMe to encourage young people to make the most of the opportunities that come their way.
