Buffalo man accused of punching, threatening woman with handgun

A 50-year-old Federal Avenue man punched a French Street woman in the face and threatened her with a handgun at her home Sunday, according to Buffalo police.

Demetrius Goss was taken into custody about an hour after the 9 a.m. incident at the woman’s home. Goss was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree menacing with a weapon and second-degree harassment.

A witness told police that Goss persuaded friend to knock on the victim’s door and then forced his way in, punching her in the and pointing a handgun at her.

As the victim was signing at criminal complaint at the Police Central Booking later Sunday morning, she became ill and was taken by ambulance to the Erie County Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
