Talk on chairs to feature noted expert and author

An acclaimed architecture writer and critic will be speaking in Buffalo in September, in a lecture presented by the Martin House complex.

Witold Rybczynski, an emeritus professor of urbanism at the University of Pennsylvania, will be speaking on the history of chairs.

The talk will be based on his new book, “Now I Sit Me Down: From Klismos to Plastic Chair: A Natural History.”

The talk will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo.

Tickets are $20, $10 for Martin House members and free to students with I.D.
