A 50-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested and accused of possession of drugs and a glass crack pipe after police noticed the engine of their parked car running on Brownell Street near Broadway.
Vance Bell and Rebecca Burdette were both charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after Police Officer David Santana reported spotting drugs, a glass crack pipe and $3,443 in cash in Bell’s car at about 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Burdette dropped bags of crack and a number of strips of heroin when she spotted Officer Santana as she walked toward Bell’s car, police said. Bell was also charged with obstructing governmental administration after telling Officer Santana he had never seen Burdette before, police said.
Both were in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Wednesday night. Only Burdette remained in custody Thursday night.
