Sweet Avenue man, 23, arrested with 39 jars of marijuana

A Sweet Avenue man was arrested Saturday for allegedly having a loaded handgun and a large quantity of marijuana, according to Buffalo Police, who reported the incident on Wednesday.

Leroy Favors, 23, was arrested by Buffalo officers after the car he was in was pulled over in the first block of Sweet Avenue at about 12:10 a.m. Saturday, according to Buffalo police.

Buffalo Police officers reported that Favors had 39 jars of marijuana, police reports show.

Buffalo Police officers reported Favors was also carrying a 9 mm handgun loaded with seven rounds which he was trying to hide in a sock, according to police reports.

Favors was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property for having the firearm reported stolen months ago and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of marijuana, according to Buffalo police reports.

He remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center on Wednesday night.
