The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a bow hunters’ education class from 4:30 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 8, at Hideaway Archery in Dayton.
The class is free, and participants must attend both days in order to receive a certificate.
Participants over the age of 12 are preferable, the Sheriff’s Office said. However, if a parent wants an 11-year-old to take the class, they must attend with the child and sit with them on both days.
Class size will be limited to 35 students, and those attending must bring a form of identification with them, such as a birth certificate or driver’s license.
The Sheriff’s Office recommends that participants bring a packed dinner.
Registration is required. Students of the class can register at www.register-ed.com. Course material can be printed online or picked up at the Sheriff’s Office or Hideaway Archery prior to the class.
Any questions can be directed to the Sheriff’s Office at 938-9191 or the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation at 372-0645.
