Driver injured in City of Tonawanda collision

A nearly head-on crash Thursday afternoon in the City of Tonawanda sent a driver to the hospital, City of Tonawanda police said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Niagara and Clinton streets at 4 p.m.

Police said Edward Summers, 66, made a left turn in front of another driver. Summers was taken to DeGraff Memorial Hospital with chest pains. He was also ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.

The other vehicle was driven by Eric Busch, 56, of North Tonawanda. He was uninjured.

Both vehicles had to be towed, police said.
