Mary Ann Serabjit-Singh, laboratory supervisor, owner of Musical Doll House in Clarence

Mary Ann Serabjit-Singh of Lancaster, laboratory supervisor at the former St. Francis Hospital, died Friday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. She was 81.

Born in Buffalo, the former Mary Ann Kowalski was a graduate of the University at Buffalo and the School of Medical Technology at Buffalo General Hospital, where she worked for several years in the hematology lab. She then became lab supervisor at St. Francis Hospital and was financial manager for her husband’s medical corporation.

After her husband retired, they enjoyed flying in his single-engine Mooney airplane to their winter home in Jupiter, Fla., and many other destinations.

An avid doll collector, Mrs. Singh owned the Musical Doll House in Clarence and founded the Buffalo Regional Doll Club, which became an affiliate of the United Federation of Doll Clubs.

She also was a member of the Buffalo Federation of Women’s Clubs. She and her husband were members of the Danny Thomas St. Jude Society.

Her husband of 20 years, Dr. Jag D. Serabjit-Singh, a radiologist and research chemist who was director of radiology at St. Francis Hospital, died in 2006.

Survivors include cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 5337 Genesee St., Bowmansville.
