LAUD, Brian L.

LAUD - Brian L. Brian died peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Apalachin, New York on Thursday August 11, 2016. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Adeline Laud. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 46 years, Frances Anne Laud; two daughters and sons-in law, Nicole and Stephen Annest and Stephanie and David Russell; grandchildren, Gabriella and Marianna Annest, Matthew and Abigail Russell; his brother, Joseph Laud; and several nieces and nephews. Brian was born on December 8, 1946 in Buffalo, New York. He graduated from Frontier High School in 1965. He graduated from The University of Buffalo in 1969 with a dual degree in Mathematics and Statistics. An accomplished baseball player, Brian was a starting varsity pitcher at UB.
Brian married Frances Anne Uraskevich on August 29th, 1970 and moved to Springville, New York where Brian taught honors math at Griffith Institute High School and coached baseball, tennis, and cross country. The family moved to Apalachin, New York in 1979 where Brian worked for NYSUT as a Labor Relations Specialist and Regional office manager. Brian felt fortunate to help teachers and schools through his work. He was devoted to his family and spent many hours volunteering as a youth soccer coach. Brian was an avid golfer, diehard Bills fan and enthusiastic member of the Elks. Brian treasured his friendships over the years, including those forged on the golf courses in both New York and Florida and at the Elks. A Graveside Service is scheduled at Lakeside Cemetery in Hamburg, NY at 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local hospice.
