Those parts of Western New York still waiting for a major shot of rain shouldn’t have to wait much longer.
The National Weather Service says that widespread showers and thundershowers are expected to sweep across the area Tuesday, bringing anywhere from three-quarters of an inch to 1¼ inches of rain.
It’s possible that some of the storms could produce heavy downpours and damaging winds.
But the rain isn’t likely to break the area’s string of 80-degree days, which reached 13 in a row on Sunday.
Nor will it give us relief from the high humidity, forecasters note, at least not right away. Drier air isn’t due to arrive until later in the week.
