Is Trump hiding money in offshore accounts?
One of the pertinent issues in question for both candidates in the 2016 presidential election is the national debt. Federal officials have estimated our government loses $40 billion to $70 billion a year in unpaid taxes due to offshore holdings.
As part of the Panama Papers inquiry, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists research discovered Donald Trump’s name appeared 3,540 times in the database under scrutiny. This revelation was accompanied by the caveat that this did not necessarily link Trump to hidden offshore accounts, since he had sold his name and brand to so many investors over the years.
However, since Trump has to date refused to make his tax returns public, it does make one wonder. Might there be a connection?
